Two Steps in the Reconciliation Process
Reconciling payments between EarnBill and the Payment Gateway. The gateway provides daily transaction reports. These are matched against all transactions in the EarnBill system, one by one, by transaction ID. This confirms that every transaction initiated from the platform actually reached and was processed by the gateway.
Matching the amount received in the merchant bank account against the sum total of all reconciled transactions. EarnBill makes it easy to reconcile gateway deposits to merchant account deposits. Giving your finance team a complete, daily view of what was collected vs what was received.
When transactions don't match: If a payment appears in EarnBill but not in the gateway, it can be manually reviewed and an adjustment made, or the customer notified. Conversely, if a payment was processed by the gateway but not by the platform (due to a platform availability error, for example), it can be posted manually and the customer's request resolved.
